June was an exceptional month for fishing on the Osa Peninsula, with both inshore and offshore waters delivering incredible action.

Inshore Excitement
The inshore bite was consistently red-hot, offering thrilling battles with monster roosterfish and fully grown Cubera snapper just a short boat ride from the dock. Anglers enjoyed numerous trophy catches and exhilarating fights. Our inshore trips also yielded a diverse array of delicious, edible species including African Pompano and snapper species. And at Crocodile Bay, your fresh catch doesn’t just go home with you—it’s transformed by our world-class chefs into culinary masterpieces, from traditional Costa Rican dishes to fresh sushi and grilled fillets.
The weather played along perfectly, with mostly calm seas and ideal fishing conditions. Any rain typically held off until late afternoons or evenings, leaving plenty of beautiful, dry hours on the water. This made June an ideal month for both half-day and full-day charters.

Offshore Outlook
The yellowfin tuna bite remained strong offshore, providing high-energy runs and excellent table fare. We also started seeing a promising increase in billfish activity. As we transition from the dry to the wet season, current lines are improving, and floating debris like logs and vegetation are accumulating offshore. These create perfect havens for baitfish, essentially setting up an all-you-can-eat buffet for marlin and sailfish. This bodes well for what we anticipate will be a fantastic July for offshore action, especially for billfish enthusiasts.

Welcoming Our Future Anglers
We were thrilled to host several families with young anglers in June. Witnessing the younger generation connect with nature, develop a passion for fishing, and light up with excitement and big smiles is truly the most rewarding part of what we do.

Looking Ahead to July
July is shaping up to be another spectacular month. Offshore, we expect continued strong yellowfin tuna action, with the billfish bite truly taking off as ocean conditions continue to improve. Inshore, the momentum from the past few months suggests that monster roosterfish and Cubera snapper will continue to bite aggressively. If you’re ready to experience world-class fishing amidst some of Earth’s most breathtaking natural scenery, Crocodile Bay on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula is the place to be. I’ll be here to personally ensure all your fishing
expectations are not just met, but exceeded.
