During your flight you will experience breathtaking views of Central America’s largest coastal rainforest and land in the charming town of Puerto Jimenez where the edge of the rainforest bathes in the warm waters of the Pacific ocean. Our Crocodile Bay Resort staff will escort you from the airstrip to Crocodile Bay Resort where you will have a fresh mango/rum cocktail in your hand within minutes. Welcome to paradise!

    Day 3

ziplinethumbRainforest Zip-Line Tour. By far the most popular land based eco-tour in Costa Rica. Once a realm limited to scientific investigations, canopy exploration has quickly become one of the fastest growing and most sought after tour frontiers of the rainforest. We are now proud to offer one of Costa Rica’s finest and safest canopy tours. The ideal site area, a 17-acre tract of virgin forest, is called Miramar or “ocean view” referring to its commanding view of the Golfo Dulce and the surrounding rainforest.

    Day 4

paddleboard1Day 4: Free Day (paddle board or visit the village, spa, or *sport fishing upgrade) Use this extra day to explore the “Sweet Gulf” – located minutes from your room via our complimentary paddle boards OR for an extra charge experience our luxury spa or try your luck in our nearby waters that offer some of the world’s best sport fishing. (inshore, offshore, fly fishing, kayak fishing and guided shore casting available) In the evening we will take you on a jungle night walk to watch the rainforest come alive. This tour includes a brief stroll around some wild areas. A fresh-water lagoon near the resort yields treasures like red-eyed tree frogs and other amphibians, exotic insects, and night birds.

    Day 5

rancho1Cultural Immersion Tour. This amazing family/farm operation is owned and operated by a local couple and is a thriving example of agro-ecology. This visionary farm serves as a model of success for balancing the subsistence needs of humans with preserving nature. The tour commences with a presentation of the tilapia fish farm, including the various stages of production. We proceed through organic tropical fruit orchards and fields of pineapple, banana, papaya, melon, sugar cane and manioc. We then visit the natural corridors of the farm, where well manicured trails lead you through a picturesque lowland rainforest. The tour ends with an offering to sample some of the products of the farm, which vary seasonally and are served under the shade of an enormous Kapok tree. A highlight of this tour is experiencing how chocolate is made and of course…tasting the result!

    Day 6

fishingkayaks1Ocean, Mangrove or *Fishing Kayaking. Enjoy a  paddle through the exotic and mysterious landscape of a river mangrove estuary. The serene passages of the river bring you silently alongside many beautiful aquatic birds: roseate spoonbills, boat-billed herons, and white ibis. Jesus Christ (Basilisk) lizards dart across the surface of water on webbed hind-feet. Howler and white-faced monkeys are known to frequent the mangroves. You may also upgrade this tour to a *guided kayak fishing tour in search of roosterfish, snook and other inshore species.
