A Storied History: From Vision to Reality
Robin Williams, a visionary who recognized the beauty and potential of the Osa Peninsula, came to the region in 1998 and purchased a cattle farm near the town of Puerto Jiménez. In 1999, construction began on Crocodile Bay, and the original lodge opened its doors at the end of that year. His two sons, Beau and Cory Williams, later joined the staff and were instrumental in shaping the future of the resort. Beau and Cory opened the next chapter for Crocodile Bay by spearheading the development of Botánika Osa Peninsula, part of Curio Collection by Hilton which opened in May 2021. Botánika’s accommodations, featuring premium amenities, complement Crocodile Bay’s renowned fishing and eco-excursions, making this a must-visit destination.
25 Years of World-Class Sportfishing
Crocodile Bay and Botánika are celebrated for its exceptional sportfishing, drawing anglers of all skill levels eager to test their mettle against the many species found in the surrounding waters. Looking to the Future
As Crocodile Bay and Botánika look forward to the next 25 years, plans are underway to further enhance the guest experience. This includes expanded luxury accommodations at Botanika, and the launch of Crocodile Bay Village and Crocodile Bay Marina taking place later this year. The new international marina will be able to accommodate yachts up to 300ft in length as well as be the home for the Crocodile Bay fishing fleet.
