Spa treatments using fresh fruits and vegetables is a growing international trend. Clients are requesting more holistic and natural treatments, and luxury spas such as Crocodile Bay have been on the cutting edge of providing these services. With an abundance of locally grown fruit, Costa Rica’s tropical environment is ideal for such treatments. Besides, a massage and facial with fruit is a great way to unwind before dinner after a long day of offshore fishing or hiking in the rainforest.
Vitamins are the secret to youthful radiant skin. Not only do you want to eat your vitamins but applying them topically is loaded with benefits. Fruits and vegetables have been used throughout the ages for skincare, and while most of us are use to applying things that come in a jar to our skin, you can also go straight to the produce aisle. Of course, great skin starts with eating right but a topical treatment could give your skin that extra boost it needs to really glow. Continue Reading
Marlins are the largest of the billfish and travel at vast speeds of up to 60 miles an hour with migration patterns that span 9,000 miles. They are spectacular creatures that are a daunting challenge to catch. These legendary creatures of the sea are one of anglers most celebrated catches. The blue marlin is probably the most prized catch of all the marlin due to its size and the challenge it gives even the most experienced sport fishermen. But it has been over 20 years since the a world record has been broken for these billfish.

I first came in contact with Aloe Vera when I was a little girl vacationing in Arizona. The strong vibrant green plant grew wild in the southwest desert. When I got a sunburn, my Mom would go outside and pick some Aloe Vera, squeeze the gel from the plant and apply it to my skin. Immediately the sting from my sunburn faded as the cool gel of the Aloe Vera settled into my skin. Today, I prefer an Aloe Vera wrap and massage at a spa after a long day outdoors to unwind and relax.
Aloe Vera has been used for thousands of years for its healing properties and as an ancient secret to radiant skin. The plant is native to the Southern part of Africa. Over the last 6,000 years the plant has spread across the world and can now be found growing wild just about anywhere with warm climates that are frost free. Since the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, Aloe Vera has been used as both a medicine and beauty aid. Continue Reading
